The Ride
The Downtown Experience
The World's Only Traveling Theater With Virtual Reality!

During our 7 day stay in New York City, this was our second experience on The Ride. The first experience we did on The Ride was the "Entertainment Experience". We actually liked that one better than "The Downtown Experience Tour with Virtual Reality". The most enjoyable part of the Virtual Reality experience was the simulation of being in a helicopter by the Freedom Tower and over Grand Central Park. For the rest of the trip the VR didn't add much to the ride. It was enjoyable, but if I could do only one of them, I'd do "The Ride Entertainment Experience" rather than "The Downtown Experience Tour with Virtual Reality". There is one more experience offered by The Ride that we did not try that is called: "The Tour (Powered By The Ride) Multimedia Sightseeing Tour". Maybe we'll try that one next time we come to New York City.

Fraunces Tavern

A tavern that was frequented by George Washington and other patriots who organized the American Revolution.

The Lovelace Cocktail & Gin Bar

After touring the Fraunces Tavern Museum we stopped for a cup of coffee at Gregorys Coffee to kill a bit of time before the live music was scheduled to begin at The Lovelace Cocktail & Gin Bar. Since we had just recently eaten at the Fraunces Tavern, we just had a meat and cheese platter at The Lovelace Cocktail & Gin Bar. Actually, the wine and platter were so good that we ordered a second of each one! The live music was also quite good too.

Jazz Standard

In the evening we went to the Jazz Standard to attend the performance of a live jazz orchestra. Live jazz orchestra performances are relatively rare where we live but perform all the time at the Jazz Standard and other jazz clubs in New York City.

NYC Subway Train Art

This is not graffiti on this subway train but rather planned train art. This particular subway train had the same type of artwork throughout all the cars on the train. There are quite a few works of art throughout the entire New York City subway system.
